Purpose:
- This role will serve as the Human Resource Generalist for SDI Gas, LLC and its subsidiary/affiliated companies
- In this role, the chosen candidate will do their part to ensure the success of the organization through effective talent acquisition, recruiting, staffing, talent development and other key human resource initiatives
- The candidate will intermittently travel to local and remote locations for recruitment purposes and/or to support employees/company management as required
Job Duties:
- Human Resources Functions
- Act as a primary HR contact for management, project management, and administrative personnel
- Actively handle employee relations, performance management, employee discipline, and compensation related matters
- Nurture, build, and maintain strong relationship with administrative and operational teams, ensuring HR needs are met
- Anticipate and develop value-added service mechanisms to support changing industry, client and leadership needs through report creation, training programs, retention and other HR related efforts
- Effectively inform personnel of company policies and procedures
- Assist legal department with workplace investigations
- Talent Acquisition
- Receive and process recruiting requests from management/leadership
- Partner with project managers to plan/facilitate/monitor project staffing needs including: recruitment, onboarding and training initiatives.
- Develop and carry out recruiting strategies and tasks in conjunction with the company's recruiter
- Develop and maintain job descriptions and perform phone screens to identify qualified new hire candidates that fit the current needs of operations teams
- Participate in career fairs, trade school open houses, industry shows and other events which are determined to hold the potential for qualified personnel recruitment
- Interview candidates and extend job offers to chosen candidates in accordance with applicable practices and procedures
- Schedule new hires for new hire orientation

- Lead employee evaluation process
- Track employee skillset development
- Track certifications and provide project/divisional leadership with updated training information as requested
- On-Boarding / Off-Boarding
- Notify HR Coordinator of new hires and each new hires training requirements
- Conduct successful on-boarding program, in house, and with third party vendors
- Work with internal departments to coordinate on-boarding initiatives
- Process terminations, layoffs, etc. with internal departments
- Communicate layoffs and facilitate reactivations of laid off employees
- Terminate employees when required
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor
Required Skills:
- Possess an understanding of the full life-cycle recruitment process
- Experience in mapping and sourcing resumes from unconventional recruitment resources
- Ability to execute recruitment management initiatives and independently manage third party search firms when necessary
- Proficient computer skills inclusive of Microsoft Office Suite products and knowledge of social media data mining and internet candidate search practices
- Manage stressful situations professionally
- Follow through with an appropriate sense of urgency
- Work cordially and effectively with others in a fast paced environment
- Communicate effectively and diplomatically
- Understand and practice change management techniques
- Prepare required document correctly and accurately
- Conduct business in a professional manner
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel to company offices, warehouses, laydown yards, projects, and recruitment events for the purpose of holding meetings, presenting information, interviews, participating in career fair event, and other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Walking, stepping, climbing stairs to access or otherwise move from one location to another which normally involves walking within and around locations and when required to climb and descend stairs to access areas as required
- Ability to read documents and materials in hard and soft copy form (either naturally or with corrective lenses)
- The position requires the individual to be seated for long periods of time
- Remaining calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident which includes within and around locations and when required to climb and descend stairs to access available exits
- The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, reflective vest, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the location
Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive human resource experience preferred
- 2+ years of recruitment experience
- Candidates should possess experience in recruiting employees to fill positions in all levels of an organization
Education:
- BA or BS in Business, Human Resources or a related field of study; however, candidates with professional experience will be considered if experience demonstrates the ability to perform the tasks listed in the position's job responsibilities section
Licenses or Certifications:
- PHR Preferred
Travel:
- Travel up to 30%
